I have always loved the 4th of July. the summertime, the fireworks and the general feel of unity all make it such a magical time to me. Now however, the holiday takes on a little bit of a new sentimental meaning for me. Exactly one year ago I met the man who would become my husband. It is so funny to me now to look back on those first days of getting to know him and wondering if he liked me or if he was going to ask me out again. I am so grateful that he did and I am so grateful that our paths crossed when they did. Yesterday we went to the fireworks in Salt Lake which is exactly the same thing we did for our first date exactly one year ago.
This is the picture that Tabor took of my cousin Missy and I at the Sugar House fireworks on July 4th 2011. It was the first date I ever went on with Tabor (and yes Missy came too). If you had told me that day that in exactly one year I would be married to the handsome boy who was taking my picture, and that I would be expecting the birth of our daughter in less than 13 weeks, I don't think I would have ever believed you.
Missy was in town again this year for the 4th of July because she is here saying goodbye to everyone before she leaves on her mission. I am so proud of her. It is funny to think that when we took this picture neither one of us had any idea we would be in such different places one year later.
This is Tabor and I at the Sugar House fireworks on the 4th of July 2012. I cant believe the difference in the two pictures and how much has changed. I am so happy to be where I am right now and to have the wonderful husband that I do!
On a different note I am getting so excited to meet my daughter. She kicks and wiggles all day long and I love it. Tabor can feel her kick all the time and sometimes at work I get distracted watching her move in my belly. It is so strange and so wonderful.
We still have not decided on a name for her. I feel like we are doomed to be that couple who has to quickly write something on the birth certificate just to get it over with. I am hoping that when I see her face I will know what to name her.
In other news it rained today for the first time this summer. I am hoping that it will help with the 12 wildfires that are burning throughout the state of Utah. On Tuesday another fire started just across the freeway from us. This is just one of many fires that have started in the area. Luckily no homes were burned in this fire and it is now under control.

ohmygoosh ohmygosh ohmygosh!!!! you look so cute! i can't believe she'll be here so soon!!!!!

ReplyDeleteYou look so cute in both pictures. Any sensible man of good breeding would look at the first picture and want to marry you. I am sure that is what Tabor was thinking when he took that picture.Love, MOM
